Preparation for meditations and connecting with others in remote, group meditations.
DO NOT listen to any meditation recordings whilst driving a vehicle or if you need to use your full attention! Most meditation recordings will tend to work like a guided meditation where you have to close your eyes and you may fall asleep, not good if you are behind the wheel of a car or need to operate machinery!
It is important to prepare yourself and the space you will meditate in to create the most perfect conducive state for you so that it is an easy and fun process and not a pain in the butt and something you just want to avoid until you feel you have no choice and you just have to do it!!!
A lot of people find meditation or taking time out in quietness for themselves a challenge and the preparation helps to create a safe, beautiful and calm space so that you are not easily distracted. It will also begin the process of calming your mind and body, which is essential for these practices. Preparation will also charge your space with the energies of love which will help your experience be a beautiful and joyful one.
So I have created this document with a simple list of suggestions which you can use or ignore or take parts of so that it is an easy and fun for you. You could even use this to begin clearing out old things you do not want in your room or home so that you can create a “sacred” or beautiful place or altar where you can place pictures of family or friends, flowers, crystals or a table top which you can use to remind you of positive thoughts or a gratitude corner, plant corner or even a food and yummies’ corner (why not!).
In short it is a space or place in your home you dedicate to you, family, friends, work, love, joy and fun. It can be as creative as you like or simple like a Japanese painting with just a few well-placed and elegant items which you hold dear.
You can arrange multiple corners, table tops, have a dedicated altar or have angel pictures or crystals of special significance in each of your rooms if you like.
I tend to meditate and to create meditations in my dining room and my lounge and both these rooms have their crystals and angel pictures permanently there.
You can also have a meditation backpack or travel bag handy so that if you go outside in nature to meditate in parks or sacred lands you have your pictures, scarves, crystals, incense, sage, matches, waterproof rug and jacket ready.
Here we go then….PREPARATION:
1 Please choose your space where you will meditate or listen to a meditation recording and ensure you will not be disturbed throughout this time. Turn off all mobile phones and take the landline phone off the hook (I know some people have more than one phone and have iPads etc..).
2 You can choose to prepare your space by lighting a candle, using crystals, flowers and arrange them in any way which feels good for you, Angel or Tarot cards of your choice or by burning incense too: it is completely up to you! Place your items on a table or on the floor, just decide and go with it.
It is also a good idea to invoke Angels to clear and transmute your space of all discordant and negative energies and play chimes or clap around all the corners of your room: this will help break up stagnant energies. Ask Angel Michael to create a golden sphere of transmutation all around you and your space to release and transmute any negative energies there may be and this will also help to transmute any feelings or thoughts you release during this time.
3 Please keep warm or cool during this period of time wherever you may be, so have a blanket handy if you need to, or turn your fan or air conditioning on if you like. Physical comfort is important as it could be a great distraction.
4 Please have a glass of water close by for the end of the recording or meditation.
5 Lie down or sit down, set the intent, whether you are giving or receiving, that it is from a place of unconditional love and acceptance of yourself or the person or place you are sending healing to. In reality when we “give” healing, we are actually holding the space or allowing the person to be surrounded and hugged by the energy of love and complete acceptance with absolutely no expectation of the outcome. The recipient is actually the one who heals themselves.
6 You can listen to some meditation music or reiki music whilst you are meditating or doing this work.
7 Start to take your attention to your breath, slow it down to a comfortable rhythm for you and begin to notice how your body is affected by this.
8 If at any time you feel uncomfortable in your body or mind during the meditation, just imagine this area of your body suffused in pinkish purple light. Forgive your mind for running on full steam when it is supposed to be resting: getting worked up about it will not make it any easier. Just continue to breath.
9 With all healing, whether you give or receive, we start with our hearts. So begin breathing into the centre of your chest where your heart and heart chakra are. Imagine pinkish purple colour or any colour you feel drawn to entering your heart through your in breath and on the outbreath, the light goes from your heart into all parts of your body, flooding it with the energy you need at this time.
10 Continue with this visualisation and just love and accept any thoughts or feelings which arise during this time.
11 If you are sending to someone, something or somewhere, ensure you are fully connected with your heart and just imagine the person, place, animal as perfect, even if you know they are very ill or the place is very polluted. Surround them with love, appreciation and complete acceptance and respect for whatever situation they are in.
By doing this and not going into the worry and fear for them, you send the highest love vibration to them and they will use it in the best way possible for them. If you are worried for them, deal with this first, help yourself and only then can you truly help others. If you are still worried and fearful, it may be better to receive healing yourself so that you can come to terms with the root of your fears and release them.
12 When you feel that it is time to stop and this may come to you as a knowing or you may feel that the energy has changed, whichever it is, thank yourself and the receiver for accepting the healing. Disconnect from the person or place by taking all your attention back to yourself and also withdrawing your energy and bringing it back into yourself fully.
You can also ask Angel Micheal to sever all ties, connections through all dimensions, space and time. You can also do this for yourself by affirming it out loud or in your mind. Say it or think it three times.
13 Take a few more deep breaths, ground yourself if you need to and gradually open your eyes. Drink some water and ensure you are completely present and grounded before you rush off to complete other things especially before you drive! I would also recommend that you burn some more incense, white sage or Palo Santo, a sacred wood from South America to further cleanse your aura and space. Using chimes like the Tibetan Ting-Sha’s will help clear your space at any time too.
